This made my day "according to the transitive property of presidential weakness and softness". Then "and certainly not II" made it again. I adore TFN πŸŽπŸ’œ

Very interesting!

"[I]magine Trump thinking you’re crazy." Trump**(*) DOES think I'm crazy. And you too. Probably also everyone who reads The Fucking News. He considers us "radical left lunatics." He's not exactly reticent about it either. Of course, like everyone else, I blow it off, but it still irks me.

Well Mr President?

What are you going to do ???

Could you comment on Jake Trapper's new book?

Jonathan Larsen's avatar

Hi Linda! I haven't read it but unless it's naming names about current party people who did actual bad shenanigans, I've been hoping we can get folks to focus on present-tense threats...! Was there something in specific you were thinking of?

I’m just really disappointed in him. I always considered him a credible journalist. I don’t understand why he would write a hit book on Joe Biden. Today I read on β€˜the Post’ that he now admits that Biden’s decline was worse than WaterGate. WTF??

Keely Cofrin Allen's avatar

I loved the book. I think the topic is relevant and important.

In reality, it's Tappers decline that's worse than Watergate. That debacle was at least reported on in good faith by journalists with ethics. Tapper wanted to make money, so he picked a subject that even the right wing might read, or at least purchase.

A "grim, acerbic smile" is much better than despair or outright grief and, often, a full belly laugh is in order as well. You are the best, Jonathan:)

β€œI don’t like it, and it better stop.”

Or, or, β€œl’ll bomb his cities, or maybe I’ll kill his populace, or, I KNOW! I’ll have JD tell him mind his manners.”

I understand that smart people tell us to take 2Doll Don seriously and identify the truths lying within his utterances, but, jesus, what a clown.

Jonathan, I cannot confirm or deny, maybe you can. Anytime I see McEwen's name attached to breakfast, I automatically think of prayer breakfast. If you are not familiar with the Gold Institute for International Strategy, I suggest you look at its website. In March 2025, Mike Flynn was named Chairman. Feels very strongmanish to me. Bob McEwen is referred to as a Distinguished Fellow. His bio is impressively-telling; but it is definitely incomplete.

My questions are why is he and Ed Meese meeting weekly with ambassadors from certain countries for breakfast and is it being paid for by The Family?

"Mr. McEwen meets regularly with members of Washington’s diplomatic community by co-hosting with former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese a weekly breakfast for leading Ambassadors during their posting in the United States."

Also why are McEwen and other non-elected conservative leaders meeting weekly with conservative leaders in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate to set the calendar and which legislation will make it to the floor? Isn't Mike Johnson capable of doing his job?

"Mr. McEwen remains a member of a select Congressional leadership team that meets weekly when Congress is in session. This exclusive group includes leaders of both the House of Representatives and Senate. Its purpose is to design the legislative strategy and calendar for floor action."

Leave it to the French President to call it as it is: β€œI believe that President Trump has realized that when President Putin told him he was ready for peace, he was lying." And the link to The Chronicle/Rep MGP...def worth a read. TY.

Jonathan, here in the UK uncouth persons such as I am refer to being on one's period as being 'on the rag'. I felt TFN's tone was a trifle elevated so required a bringing down to the gutter.
