There is no pause button! Can you believe it? If you heard me coughing on today's podcast you probably can. FWIW, it's not that I'm suck, it's just that reading aloud without a drink or pause for breath for 20 minutes dries out the throat. Sorry about that!

I can recommend Audacity, a free audio recorder/editor that is easy to use as well as full of advanced features, but right now concentrate on what's important:
