The British sounding artificial reading voice is terrible.

It has the same broken cadence other voices have, but in a British sounding voice it sounds worse.

Substack should let the reader, not the writer, to choose which voice they want text-to-speak to them.

"if Trump does make the economy go man-boobs up"

I laughed out loud then was immediately horrified by the mental image of tr💩mp's man-boobs 🤣 😬

"And inflation? Trump’s bro-proval numbers went down like a SpaceX rocket, from 55% to 40%. See, Newsfuckers? They’re learning!"

normally, i'd rejoice and say 'better late than never'--but in this case, it wont do fuck-all to change anything...we're all STILL screwed 🤨

That is definitely the fucking weirdest non-fictional firm name I've ever seen.

Mind you, I've never regularly read stuff about firms. But I have read more than the average bear.

I listened to an interview, with Trump and Greta V.S., done in 1.0, and Trump was apparently unaware that "most" people don't own individual stocks. It was like he was Jordan Belfort, exclaiming there are dollar stocks and penny stocks. I watched shocked but never surprised.

Honestly, most people can't reallocate their 401Ks in bear or bull markets because they don't know they can.

This time around is a different casino that absolutely no normie is doing or will know how.... CRYPTO. His sovereignty fund is gambling with the taxpayers dollars, as he plays, J.Powell, with a piss poor rotten tomatoes rating and so funding stops, grandma gets no money and people die. Fabulous. I know the staunchest of supporters would not support this economically even if they were particularly prone to suck on Trump's little finger.....or something closely related.

So, let's privatize everything then bet the everything on a win or loss, a get in, get out strategy for the wealthy. The dollar weakens or turns to dust, the uber wealthy stay bottom feeders only out in broad daylight while they insist this is to make America First, Last, or they don't give a shit. I vote for the latter.

Wait until the banks become a little less liquid each day. That will happen. Plan accordingly.

The shit pisses me off to no GD end. He has no mandate on this, DOGE, Musk, and fkn Alito can kiss my white ass.

Not to mention my love and absolute devotion to creepy R. Vought.

Is...this what it feels like for people who aren't me to read The Fucking News?!?

My ranting? I get easily triggered with reality. I didn't offend, did I?

Yes, life has been a series of whataboutthetimetrumpisms for a decade and so when the sleepy Dems are voting to censure, the SCOTUS are the 6 pillars of tyranny, especially 3, and I can't believe all of it on eggs and bro podcasts!

I hope people read and learn, outside of anything here, and then can relate to their "feelings" side when they should be outraged and why. I left everywhere but here. The fear is what LLM and algorithms and all that are doing over on what used to be my gig....Twitter and of course META. Thanks for replying.

Offend? I was in awe! But now I'm intriged by what used to be your gig? Did you work for the Dark Side of The Force...? (I mean, we all do, one way or another...)

Expand full comment

Whew! My gigs meant before I left Facebook in 2020, X 11/4/24, Instagram a couple of years ago.

Twitter was my breakthrough to actually follow verified accounts, learn and interact with people who made me want to dig deeper. I miss it but not X.

Here I’m not limited to characters! That can be good or bad!!

At least I don’t have to watch cat videos!

I’ve never been a dark sider. Keep up the great F’ing work with the real F’ing News!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the best thing that can happen now is a nice sharp downturn. Something has to bring down the crazy fuck fast. Tanking the economy involves the least loss of life.

Expand full comment

I wish it did not come to this either but here we are. The pain is going to come regardless, I’m hoping that it will have the same boost to reviving the new deal since people seem to have forgotten the consequences of incompetence in government, much less malice which is today an added feature.

Economic downturns can shake things up, but they also come with their own challenges. It’s a complicated situation for sure.

Still waiting for a convincing argument that anything other than complete physical removal from power/influence will stop him from doing/approving whatever-the-fuck ...

Well, hopefully that happens before they take away Social Security! My life circumstances left me with a late start in life financially. The end of Social Security would be the early end of me unless I go back to work (currently a caretaker for my 96 year old father). I'm a healthy 75 year old and could do that but not if the economy crashes and even the young cannot get jobs. Not everyone can survive a tanking economy. I guessing that you can.

Wow. Now I'll definitely whine just a little less about being in my 50s and taking semi-care of looong-divorced, cognitively-declining parents in their 80s, neither of whom is actually on board with necessary changes and both of whom suck about explicitly asking for anything.

Go ahead and whine as much as you need. What you’re doing is difficult and you should feel good about doing it.

Fingers crossed for you, though! I at least was deemed ‘essential’ during official pandemic measures, and belong to a union that hasn't been crushed yet …

Expand full comment

I was also an essential worker during the pandemic which was really good since I did lose my job after the 2008 fiasco as the grant I was working under went bye bye. I could not find a job for 8 months and then was only able to get a $12hr job in a hotel for another 2 years and had to take what was left of 401K. Just can't believe I may be going through that again! I have never been a hater but republicans are changing me. :(
