Nice 14th Amendment argument, but can we get the truth about J6 first?

Is Star Trek - Enterprise not canon?

The NX-1 was launched in 2151.

Or is that too early a deadline for Merrick Garland.

Ok, I finally finished the rest of today's post. Every word 100% true. No lies detected.

So, in other words, and in business as usual terms, the Constitution is merely a _suggestion_ of laws the country should follow, but doesn't really mean shit. Except it means a lot when the people enforcing the Constitution need it in order to get what they want, but not when other people need it to defend them. Of course, the first "people" refers to politicians and billionaires and the second "people" refers to everyone else. Lovely.

As I said on your audio of this post, OMG thank you for bringing in social psychology aka impact of coolness in politics. This is so cool, man. I am obsessed with the topic and need to hear more more more!!!!!!

Argh but also, good point

Also, thank you very much for continuing to do your independent original reporting. It’s curious why the JL Substack is taking longer to get recognized financially than the TFN Substack. I think it deserves just as much attention and money. I’m sure once more people know about it, they will send you money to recognize its value.

I see you suffer from the same belief in meritocracy that afflicts me! Thoughts and prayers!

Just checked out your JL substack and am confused: A free subscription gets me your "original reporting" but - oddly - a paid subscription doesn't? Look at the list of 'gets' under each. I assumed that the paid includes the original reporting benefits and subscribed. Re your piece on the Family, did you work with Jeff Sharlet re his book/the series on this topic?

I didn't connect with Jeff until after the series, sadly. And, yeah, I should clarify what each level of subscription comes with. Thanks for flagging that!

Convict trump's unPresidency will be illegitimate, in my book at least. Apparently, running (overthrowing) a stop sign carries a bigger penalty than overthrowing (running into the ground) the USA.

Sometimes (especially since the re-election of Trump) I think we are beyond any chance of redemption. It appears our government, and other democracies in name, the Christian extremists, most of our so called "journalists", and political parties to varying degrees, are the elaborate disguises worn by a international criminal organization run by oligarchs (all men, mostly white). I will continue reading and supporting your work and that of others and hope for some evidence that I am wrong. Thank you.

I will do my best to provide that evidence. There’s more of us…or can be!

Washington is all barricaded like they’re trying to keep out an invasion and there’s not a single person trying to get in. It looks shameful. I just hope the streets are this empty during the ‘inauguration’ when Trump pretends he swears to uphold the constitution. I hope not a soul shows up to view the travesty.

As for Barbara Lee! I watched her storm up and shout NO and my own voice was rough from shouting NO at home. She was and always will be my hero.

Is there a way to subscribe to both of your accounts with, like, a discount? I’m getting most of my news from substack but it’s getting pricey.

Expand full comment

Madeleine, thanks so much! Both substacks are free! On rare occasions I may do a paid-only chat or something but free subscribers get the newsletter and my reporting. People upgrade to paid just to make it all possible. So if you can’t afford to upgrade to paid you shouldn’t, but know that you’ll still get all the stories…!

Apologies Jon, a donor at the moment. I hope that will change soon.

Pres. Biden is/was a very good president considering that Congress has devolved into the monkey house at the zoo. But he's old school, plays by the rules. So, what kind of gun do the Dems bring to this fight, especially when republicans are armed with ARs and bump stocks?

Not giving up, but we relied too much on the honor system and honorable men and women to lead. The Constitution, as lofty as it is, is airy and vague. Easily exploited by all 3 branches.

republicans don't win. They take.

Thank you, Jeri! Honestly, I'm less frustrated with the Dem behavior now than with its jarring cognitive dissonance with everything that came before Election Day. That said, your point(s) is/are taken for sure.

Expand full comment

I'm equally frustrated, so I hear ya. Which makes me wonder, did they (Dems) want this new world order also? Did they say to themselves "well everyone else is cashing in, I might as well too. After all, it's legal now..."

No tin foil hat here, but it does make me wonder.

Hi Beverly! You can contribute by becoming a paid subscriber via the many, many, excessive number of links all over this Substack.
