An Open Letter to President Biden: Supporting Your Decision to Pardon Hunter

Trump turned pardons into tools of corruption, shielding cronies and stacking courts to protect himself. Biden’s decision to pardon Hunter is a stand against the GOP's weaponization of justice.

How come comments I make disappear? I know it’s not a conspiracy but at my age it’s like playing Dude, where’s my car? In a parking lot.

No way! Republicans will frame it as an admission of the charges being false! He can never be pardoned for attempting a coup or stealing nuclear secrets!

None of them could or would accept a pardon, which is an acknowledgment of guilt--none of them broke the law. What Biden should really do is pardon the actual criminal in the case, Donald Trump, with a full statement of the crimes in the Smith and Willis indictments as what he's being pardoned for; he'll never stand trial anyway, so it makes no difference, but it's an available way of holding him accountable in public.

TFG wanted to go after Clinton and others during his first term but the DOJ refused to do so. There was not sufficient evidence to indict them and the guardrails worked. He still managed to order audits and other govt harassment for some. This time the guardrails are gone.

Do pardons apply to people recalled to military duty and then court martialed?

Depends on the wording of the pardon and whether it covers the court martial charges. They aren't "get out of jail free" cards.

I will try very hard to reduce other expense that are less important and sign up with you.

You're telling the hidden secret of politics, governments, law and it's not only important to understand the dark but very funny satire of it. I'm 80yo and I guess some of us get it, but let's hope a number of middle class, the GenXYZM and people of all different colors, genders with more natural intelligence and attitudes (or is it aptitudes), who can learn, take off the glasses and see the Horrors of our Probable Future and start the Revolution(sshhhhh, they might be spying on us right now.)

In the ‘60’s we used to say every time you call for revolution you postpone it for 5 minutes.

System was fractured long ago Aslo! Pardon everyone who didn’t vote for Trump! This election election was simply class warfare, between the haves and have nots…granted many of Trumps votes came from the later, however, they should have known better, they would never be a part of the haves!
