Just a note to say don't worry about not replying to all comments. I don't think any of us post a comment expecting you to respond. It's always nice when it happens, but rather presumptuous to expect it. Leave it for the occasions when a comment seems especially noteworthy (like this one) or something needs clarification or correction. The work is what's important and why we read.
There’s FBI Director Chris Wray. How’s that going? There’s Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, whose job includes fending off inflation. How’s that going?
Biden’s envoys to Russia and Afghanistan are Republicans. How’s that going?

(Not )to nitpick, but let's not forget Louis DeJoy trying to undermine the US Post office to support private delivery companies?

Y'know, I toyed with including DeJoy...but I felt that would've obliged me to refresh my memory about how USPS handled the 2020 election...and the current status of his leadership, which has been affirmed by the USPS board. And then I would've had to write MORE, which people HATE! But thank you for making sure his name got in the mix!
VP Harris doesn't have to make a statement one way or the other about fracking. Fracking and other fossil fuels will only go away when renewable fuels are cheaper, and vehicles, appliances, heat pumps, etc. are the most economical choice. President Biden and VP Harris have invested billions in supporting the transition to renewables. Their initiatives have been met with powerful resistance by fossil fuel cartels, and low information voters who go berserk about Biden coming for their gas stoves, massive pickup trucks, and ICE vehicles.
Making a statement during a stupid cable TV interview in response to a silly gotcha question isn't going to advance climate policy. If VP Harris claimed she was going to shut down fracking, it would only cause irreparable political harm. She made it clear she intends to promote funding to support the critically necessary transition to renewables. Anyone who understands the complexity of the issue knows she will not be sad when fossil fuels are replaced by renewables. There is no need to rile up the MAGAs by suggesting she is coming for their precious fracking. Like a smart politician, she did not go along with Bash's goal of extracting a misleading, potentially damaging sound bite.
Thanks for the post...it puts my on-spoken words on what I was trying to think as I watched it! Agree with Pete about Adam Kinzinger--he is one of the OK ones.
Yes! But there are so many other people to throw bones to… who didn’t facilitate the GOP’s progress/regression to where we are now.
I’d rather throw bones to people who got it right consistently. Plus, ANY agency has room for shenanigans. They’ve been trying to privatize the VA for years now and I’d guess Kinzinger hasn’t exactly manned the barricades against that, has he? (Serious question!)
It was the word “ inseminate”
I was listening to the Beatles / Cha Chi- it’s a gentle way to face the harsh realities of a new day - How can I be serious Now ?
Oh Wow Stop 🛑 I only got one sentence into this - and laughing already !!!

She could make Adam Kinzinger secretary of Defense.
A sane Republican would make the point of bipartisanship without actually affecting any domestic policies.
I agree that Harris doesn’t gain much and has a lot to lose putting any Republican in a position of power in her administration,
But appointing let’s say Adam kinzinger to veterans affairs would do little harm while throwing a bone to never trumpers.

I kinda hate the term “spot-on”, but yeah.
It’s a little too on-the-nose.
