“Now someone please tell me who in our politics is saying this,”

- They’re not saying anything about our American-funded genocide either. Blue no matter what or who.

So... “At no time were employees told that they would be fired if they left the facility." Well that surely must completely exonerate Impact Plastics, after all, everyone could have left on their own much earlier. It's on the employees,..like in Animal House, "Hey, you fucked up, you trusted me." Good god.

And the BioLab toxic chemical explosion bit, private equity with a history of extracting enormous dividends from the business, financed not by the company’s profits but by multibillion-dollar debt issuances...leaving the company with a debt of 8x EBIDTA....there is just too fucking much in that piece to quote! It is financial engineering and capitalism at its finest. Privatize enormous profits and socialize the cost of addressing human health and the environment. How are we still allowing banks and businesses to get away with this shit?

I won't even get started on Tina Peters. This is long enough. Thank you for the links and allowing me to use words that if my mom heard me say, I would have been grounded for the weekend.

News to me the Tennessee story. Enraging, shameful, immoral. Thank you.

The Tina Peters losing her son story reminded me of Ashley Babbitt’s mother ruining her life after poor choices by her daughter.

Good story in The Atlantic.

These people are NOT repentant. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2024/10/jan-6-capitol-attack-ashli-babbitt-dc-residents/679563/

You are a better person than I am. I can't work up any sympathy for this woman. A tiny shred of empathy, because I'm not a monster. But fuck her. Fuck her. I am against the death penalty, but goddamn, these idiots wanted to betray more than half this country, and that's up-against-the-wall worthy.

I hear you. We just gotta keep up the work of preserving those tiny shreds.
