Jonathan, since we do not know if Lina Khan is going to be in Harris’s administration don’t we still need her input on oil and gas, food conglomerates like the meat packing plants, big pharma, and my all-time favorite insurance companies, along with banking and financial companies?
I suspect Putin’s main purpose in staying in contact with Trump was to keep his useful idiot warm, while encouraging him to run again (surely planning to help him through disinformation, etc.) . of course Trump knew withholding aid to Ukraine would please his friend, but Putin was probably more subtle than to outright ask If i were Putin, i would have started the conversation earlier. “You know Donald the us is sending more and more to Ukraine. So stupid.”and another time, “You can certainly get even for being cheated the last time by running and winning this time. Your party members are loyal to you. You can probably direct them as the acknowledged leader of the party—still very powerful. “
The numero uno thing Putin wants from Trump is us withdrawal from NATO. Trump may not see how badly he’s being used. After all he thinks he deserves all the respect and cooperation he gets.
As Harris said, Trump is easily manipulated by flattery or favor and thats how KGB recruits people so Putin is an expert.
Donold on the other hand, is equal parts stupid, naive, and lacking patriotic feelings.
He doesn’t understand that patriotism can mean you risk your life for your country. that’s why he stands @ the graves of fallen military heroes and asks what was in it for them. And he talks about ending Ukraine Russia to stop the killing; just so, but there are other things @ stake.
I wonder if Donold has introduced Vance and Putin.
Very simply, The Felon is a TRAITOR to our country and our democracy. He should be immediately removed from the race and Harris should win by default. WTF!!
When I find The Economist stuck in its delusion that the military situation in Ukraine can be retrieved, I can only conclude the MSM is in its death rattle. Those deeply experienced military analysts who actually think for their livelihood shouted into the void at the start of this misadventure that Ukraine could not, and would not prevail. When push came to shove, Russia would outman, and outgun Ukraine. Those who thought they could crack Russian unity, morale, and resolve through sanctions or any other means do not possess the thinnest understanding of Russia’s long history of crushing brutal invasions, and have zero acquaintance with the Soviets astounding military accomplishments in WW II. They rose from the dead, hung on by their fingernails during the first two years of the conflict, went on to firestorm into hades the remnants of the once mighty Wehrmacht in their final battle for Berlin. Ever wonder why the Soviets didn’t surround the German capital and starve them out? They took Berlin by storm, suffered the casualties, in order to drive the final stake into the heart of German militarism. No “stabbed in the back” motif. The Soviets ground the Germans so thoroughly into the dirt the Germans well and truly knew they were crushed.
Americans residing in the South have folk memories of Sherman’s march to the sea. Don’t you think the Russians have slightly more than faint memory of Hitler’s war of liquidation in which twenty-six million of them perished, that every single Soviet family suffered a minimum of one war dead? When Putin said Ukraine would join NATO over our dead bodies, he was not speaking for himself, but for every person living in the nearly twelve zones of Russia proper, and the countless millions of Russian war dead. Crack Russian unity of purpose? Overthrow Putin? Break up Russia into a dozen statelets? How about cloud cuckoo land, the only place I can deduce where we came up with our decades-long policy of lunacy towards Ukraine. Ukraine joining NATO was always a pipe dream. Today’s shattered Ukrainian infrastructure and shattered Ukrainian demography is final proof. We have the blood of a generation of young Ukrainians on our hands. We are a disgrace to our ancestors and to our children.
Sue for peace now, not later. Russia is in total command of the battlefield. It is solely within their gift to grant future economic viability to rump Ukraine by permitting it to retain access to the Black Sea and to its overseas export markets. Shed your illusions. You have zero leverage. It is over. You have lost and your policy is in ruins.. Wait, and it will get worse.
Oh bless your heart! 'Raging misanthropy and anti-social tendencies...' describes me perfectly. No wonder I find your work suits me so well, interesting, well written and occasionally very funny. Doing a fabulous job! So sorry I am unable to subscribe, disability pension is not generous, but really grateful to have access to your work just the same, thank you. All the best to you.
I too want to thank you for all your hard work putting these pieces together. I’ll have to stay a free subscriber for awhile longer at least until after the election.🗳️
Why is Trump obsessed with the 1790's? History may shed some light.

I can’t stop laughing. He’s poking holes in everyone’s “end of the world” narrative!

The chef’s kiss on the covid part of the story —
“Trump denies it. The Kremlin says this one’s true.”
And so many of us BELIEVE THE
KREMLIN
🖕🏼💩🤡🤪🤬/traitor
If I have to go one more round on this Russiagate bullshit, I think my brain will explode.
Get ready for the explosion 💥.
Seven phone calls with Putin would make it look like Trump helped enable the expanded invasion of Ukraine.
To my thinking that is exactly what happened, after all he did think he had another term to go, before America caught on to the s@@@ show!
What’s the Putin - Trump love affair all about? Follow the money!

No, Russia is not infallible, you sell Eastern Europe short, especially those who know Russia’s malevolence first hand!
The disquieting part for me was the Covid tests story, when Putin told Trump “Please don’t tell anyone…for your own good…”
How many people have advised Trump how many times to not say things “for his own good”? And it seems he’s ignored them all. Except Putin.
Is Putin the only one Trump listens to? Is Putin Trumps new Roy Cohn?
Thanks for the image of putin and cohn. I'll sleep much better...
Maybe the denial about the calls with Vlady the Pu is just disputing the “at least 7” part. Maybe they talk every day and have had around 1400 calls.
Why does it seem like your voice is crying in the wilderness?
I heard you . It helps to know there are the like minded still among us , and I’m glad to have read this today !
