Thinking of buyouts of the Gaza kind, anyone who has ever advised upon assembling a large site for redevelopment will tell you that the starting point for any appraisal has to be to identify every owner, occupier, right of way, right of support, right of light or view. Then each interest has to be valued, owners approached etc. Anyone who listened to the BBC podcast entitled "Trumped" will know that is not how P47 goes about it. There is absolutely no way of doing that in Gaza which would mean that any entity attempting to redevelop could only do so by ignoring all human rights and committing war crimes. The USA is never going to do that. The whole thing is a smoke screen. There are millions of grieving people and that needs years to identify. Buying Greenland throws up similar problems, without the grieving, and America should stay out of it. The proposals suggest a demented brain with no idea how to even think.
It seems the Republican's sinister master plan is to restrict voting rights so that the midterm elections nor any future election can unseat them. They will eliminate the filibuster to succeed.
Question: how does all this litigation have a shot when Trmumpsk is ignoring/not complying with the court orders? With tge FBI being pulled apart, what entity can or is willing to go after the individuals? At this point I want to see just about every single one of these dipshits perp walked like Luigi.
“What do White House correspondents correspond about? The White House. Does that correspond with reality? No. It corresponds with what the White House is doing.” To put a fine point to it, WH correspondents correspond to what the White House says it is doing.
I'm expecting Fetterman to change his party affiliation any day now. Unless he's going to be our new Manchin and string it along for awhile...
One thing I hope media does is keep bringing back all of Musk's chaos and laying it onto Trump's feet. Musk doesn't care if he's unpopular, Trump does, since he's the elected one.
I think the buyout is all Musk, he did it at twitter. He did it very visually. idk if buyouts usually fail, twitter is doing ok with a lot fewer people. but, i’ve studies other buyouts and not all are successful at saving troubled companies. they don’t have to affect a lot of people just to get rid of the sticky people you want gone. however. they are talking about layoffs that will cause very high unemployment rates. people whose lifestyle was working a desk job from home aren’t going to retrain themselves as nurses and ac repairmen and school teachers. they just won’t. there will be extreme dysfunction in society and we won’t become united around recovery the way we did in the 50’s. there will be inflation as this happened because of the tariffs. things have to be really dire to get an office worker to pickup a shovel and dig or put on a hard hat and build homes. that’s a lot of energy for forty year olds who have never really labored toward a goal.
it’s a truly insane plan that won’t help anybody in the end result. and where are the robots and ai that will save us from menial work? They cant get enough energy to run themselves. The human brain operates well on 2000 calories a day! we should be training people not machines.
The Polish expression, "Not my circus, not my monkeys," seems to describe how we should respond to much of what the [ ] [ ] ** is pretending to do. What they are actually doing, as Jonathan notes, is bad enough; no sense wasting our energy on their "reality TV" nonsense.
** (somehow even calling it the "current" "administration" seems like blasphemy)
Please don't be offended, but I think the proper term or description of the two billionaire pricks would be "manchildren". Now maybe the time to publicly emphasize that the Trump circus Masters are losing lawsuits and wasting taxpayer dollars because they don't know what they're doing, they're lost. In actuality I don't think they care, but people need to see them as the buffoons they are, devious buffoons but nevertheless buffoons, circus clowns and just mean little f****.
As evidenced by the title of this substack, linguistic norms aren’t my bag! I felt “manholes” would additionally diminish them, and since the grammar police all seem to be otherwise occupied…
TFN is the best thing I read every day, aside from Freddy the Pig books (I'm now on Number 17 of 25).
So much to respond to or comment on in the TFN above I can't even contemplate trying. But for one: I'm so old I will never again have to ask for credit so no freeze for me. I probably don't have enough for the DOGE boyz to try to steal. And ... whoever froze three credit reports in ten minutes, well, I never.
I DID forward this TFN to a young guy (yes, 50 is young) who was an FAA contractor along with me 15 years ago. Now I'll see if I can figure out how to make him my third recipient of a one-month TFN subscription. Maybe TFN's Marketing Department can prompt me. :>)
Freddy's poetry is so awful. Brooks must have had a blast writing it. I'm reading on a Kindle. I will spring for "The Collected Poems of Freddy the Pig." Freddy is such a break from the real fucking news.
I figured you did, but you also have those quaint journalism ethics. So I wanted to throw out this speculative possibility. It sure fits the likely profile. Would be fascinating, if this is a hit, to know what drew this radically unqualified punk into this orbit. Musk bro? Bannon connection? Stephen Miller acolyte?

It appears he is beginning to comply with the court orders.
Got a link? I’m sure I’ll stumble on to something later today, but I always appreciate a jumpstart.
They’re a scam. My heart goes out to our federal employees
This was good talking off the ledge detail.. much needed this week. Thanks.
I’m not sure that Biden received 20% of the Arab American vote? But I do like that “they were probably wrong” but they’re not owning up to it.🤣
You are correct. Fixed. Thanks for the catch!
Sorry… I know that was such a tiny thing.😞 Thank you for all that you do.

More about the Circus/Monkeys expression here: https://www.nasiprzodkowie.com/blog/not-my-monkey-not-my-circus/ ... because we all need relief from the idiocy. Thank you, Polish people!

Manhole works, I thought there was some other word used, but I can't find it.

Thank you! It’s just a gift subscription, no…?
Yes just the free one-month sub; I had only used two of them.
Freeze your credit anyway! It sends a message.
I love Freddy the pig. 💚

So grateful for your reporting!
Started off with echoes of Winston Churchill and got even better. Thx for the hope. We'll fuck'em yet. May just take a while longer than thought?
Churchill without the racism and antisemitism!
Might this be the frat boy in question?: https://www.linkedin.com/in/greg-hogan-pmp-csm-itil-aws-ccp-26b70167/
I heard he was Pledge Chair at Delta Tau Kakisto...
I think I saw that one when I searched for him. One or two showed up. So…maybe?!? Good sleuthing!
