tRump needs to be fact checked any time sounds come out of him. Has anyone got proof that the Panama canal is under Chinese rule? No. But he still gets to say it over and over. So anytime he says that it should link to the many stories from that area that keep staying that the Chinese do not run the canal.

The landlord 💩 was just a thing in 🇨🇦 . I'm not sure if it's over or not. Thanks for the reminder. And, of course they all said No we didn't, but if we did we didn't mean for it to go public.

Kind of had me interested, then you mentioned WaPo. Didn’t read your post after that.

Trump is nothing more than the long arm of jewish zionism. Hell, he wouldn't be president without their money and support. Threatening and invading and taking from other countries is the MO of zionists. Stop Americanizing Donald Trump.

I’m a lawyer and it clearly violates international law, but arguably so does arming the Israeli government to bomb hospitals and schools and block humanitarian aid to Gaza. Impunity all around

It’s all diversionary. He knows the media will focus on that because people are basically stupid.

Very little coverage of his criminal and legal dealings.

Practically zero coverage of #freeluigi

Zero coverage on how the US “healthcare” system is catastrophically broken.

And so on.

Norms are based on values. The values have been gone for a while, so it was just a matter of time until the norms crumbled.

Many of the slain norms were a bunch of Jimmy Stewart-era shit that was only the result of the extreme hardships that America faced in the 1930s and 40s, which showed people that they could not survive without respecting and supporting each other. That belief started slipping in the Vietnam era, and then under Reagan the discarding of these values was practically codified. Iran Contra showed us what was coming. The values that had led to the lawful and objectively correct impeachment of Nixon were dead, and so Reagan faced no consequences.

Nobody EVER cared about norms, except insofar as the norms supported something they cared about - in the case of Americans, until the 1980s, that was liberal democracy and the rule of law. The right no longer has any values except "fuck you" so that makes everything a lot easier for them.

Sadly, I think that attitude is no longer the sole province of right-wingers - they have spread it successfully to the apolitical. How many people do you know who couldn't tell you how many Senators there are or how a bill is passed but could tell you the "nine scariest words in the English language?"

“This is how norms really die. Not in their violation, but in the failure to recognize their violation.” And this should be repeated as often as Tim Snyders obeying in advance line.

Well that is a massive amount of very disturbing information

Not sure how the rest of my day is going to be after that.

They are succeeding by their everything everywhere all at once approach. So many outrageous things are said and done every 10 minutes that it is impossible to address them. They are like a swarm of wasps.

The embers of the California fire come to mind as well. They want to kill everything that is good and decent.

I am meditating daily on the hope that something awful happens to Trump and musk asap.

I hope their enablers rot in hell

Just a random question to ChatGPT:

can a military officer refuse an order of the president to invade another country in violation of international law?

Yes, a military officer can refuse an order from the President to invade another country if they believe that the order is unlawful, particularly if it violates international law. Here are some key points to consider regarding this issue:

1. Legal Duty: Military officers have a legal and ethical obligation to obey lawful orders and to disobey unlawful ones. An order that violates international law, such as an unlawful invasion or aggression against another country, could be considered unlawful.

2. International Law: The United Nations Charter prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, except in cases of self-defense or with the authorization of the U.N. Security Council. An invasion without a legitimate basis under international law may be deemed unlawful.

3. UCMJ Regulations: Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) in the United States, service members are not only allowed but required to refuse orders that they know to be unlawful.

4. Potential Consequences: Refusing a lawful order can have serious consequences for a military officer, including disciplinary action. However, the principle of lawful orders fundamentally protects officers from being compelled to participate in actions they believe to be illegal.

In practice, the decision to refuse an order can be complex and may depend on various factors, including the specific legal context, potential repercussions, and the officer's personal and professional judgment. It's advisable for officers in such situations to seek legal counsel or guidance from military legal advisors if they believe an order to be unlawful.

Ahh yes, but absolute immunity. Lest we foget, he isn't a President, he is a King. He can even phone up that dedicated Jester who's wife is so fond of Insurrection Flags and have his slate wiped clean, or sandblasted as required. Let the criming commence.

But, remember, thanks to SCROTUS, the Nixon Rule (if the President does it, it’s not illegal) is now written in stone.
