I appreciate your elucidation of clemency, particularly the link and in regard to the judge dude. A couple of authors here on Substack went OFF on Biden's choices and I was crestfallen. It's not that I think Biden is perfect/a perfect president, flawless. It's that I want him to be higher on the moral high ground than the Orange One and the Trump Chumps, which admittedly isn't hard to be. For normal people.
If you look at presidential campaign contributions Kamala had over 1 billion and Trump a little over 300 mil (of which most was contributed by Elon apparently. )No way can that gap be from grassroots contributions. No im sure the C suite wanted Kamala as president because they, unlike the majority of the electorate ,knew tariffs are bad and deporting the workforce of our agricultural, construction and meat packing industries would be disastrous for literally everyone. You can call it self interest but some of that self interest intersects with my desire to have fruits, vegetables and meat and people to for jobs I’ve tried but can’t find English speakers to do.
These CEOs are pretty despicable but they also know how susceptible Trump is to obsequiousness. Same with world leaders. Whether any of it works remains to be seen but I don’t want our economy to crash because I sure as hell did NOT vote for that.
Btw those our just the figures I’ve seen. If I’m wrong about those campaign contributions feel free to correct me.
The party of FDR did not "buy into" the myths. It opened its doors to the grifters when it elected Slick Willy Clinton. The GOP did a similar maneuver when it invited the religious right televangelists into the party in order to get Reagan elected.
Reading that list of CEOs who are kneeling to the self-proclaimed king made me think of what beta males these guys are. You're absolutely right, Jonathan, THESE are the ones who are "titans"???
