Glad to see you still writing. I was so bummed when I found you weren't with TYT anymore. Luckily my friend from the TYT Army put me onto your newsletter and I immediately signed up. I might able to pay at the moment, but have every intention of paying as soon as my finances are a little better. Keep up the great work!

Please thank the TYT Army for me! I'm so touched by this comment, Marjorie. Thank you so much. And NO ONE should feel bad about not paying! That's the whole point of trying to get those who CAN afford it to do so...because we all deserve to consume our news with all the salt we want on it...

As someone who is not (yet..?) a paid subscriber, I’ll say that I like hearing about the “housekeeping” and the open trying to figure-it-all-out-ness. It’s not a one to one airtight comparison but what the StartUp podcast did for Alex Blumberg/Gimlet was very successful I think in building attention but also building loyalty. That somewhat murky yet enticing idea of “they’re just like us!” pulls an audience in. At least me.

Thanks, Will! I'll keep that in mind. I'm DEEPLY skeptical that anyone cares about the sausage-making as long as the sausage is yummy and locally sourced and not a product of industrial agri-farming and the reason a massive Great Lakes-sized reservoir of pig feces doesn't Edmund Fitzgerald an entire town. BUT since you say there's some interest, I'll keep my brain open to future updates -- clearly marked so folks who just want THE NEWS DAMMIT won't be troubled by my BS. Thanks!

Just googled "fontanelle." Thought it was just called "that weird, disturbing mushy part." Thanks for enlightening me!

Funny...I didn't know there WAS a "weird, disturbing mushy part" -- except on some grownups -- until I learned what a fontanelle was!
