Wonkette is NOT "the sine qua non" of news snarkification. An argument could be made that Wonkette is the "non plus ultra" of snarko-journalism. but the discipline does exist beyond Wonkette, as TheFuckingNews demonstrates.
Hoc amo! I actually looked up both expressions to make sure I was using it right...and tbh I'm still not sure which one best captures what I meant to say? I guess I wanted to call it the highest example of the form, NOT to say that without it there is nothing, OR that there's nothing beyond it? So maybe NEITHER was right? In any case, it is crazy how reassuring it is to know that there are still folks patrolling the linguistic streets. Thank you, Tom.
