Mr Kennedy said Friday, on NPR that there are no safe or effective live vaccines.

Funny though, that, smallpox is a live virus ( attenuated ) and it is said to have saved at least 150 million people since smallpox was deemed eradicated.

So, I guess it's better to have our kids succumb to smallpox, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, the list goes on.

Well, we may not have to worry about confirmation hearings at all if all the nominees can go thru recess appointments instead! Sigh…

As someone who never stopped resisting after 2016, the idea of equating effective resistance to following mainstream media, even MSNBC, seems ludicrous. After eight years of the media sanewashing Trump, minimizing coverage of actual progressives and signally failing to carry out the responsibilities of a robust free press, they have successfully rendered themselves irrelevant. I look to a wide variety of independent sources for news, and the Times, WAPO and the TV news are peripheral at best.

I think a lot of people are just taking a break and will regroup after attending to their mental health.

Thanks for helping us laugh through the fucking tears! Now, I’m crying but I’m not sure if I’m crying laughing or just crying crying. Either way, I think it’s a win.

People still watch TV? That’s so adorable. Seriously. Who gives a rats ass about tv ratings these days when the only people who watch TV are going to be dead soon (based solely on demographics, not anything more nefarious, of course). There is plenty of resistance and there are resistance-minded people, if one chose to look for them. But, apparently the corporate media has lost the ability to find us since turning on the tv or checking tv ratings is so much easier than, say, having to learn how to navigate a whole new social media platform because the one we all used to hang out on is run by a literal fucking space Nazi. And anyone looking to the corporate scribblers and talking heads to “save us” from ourselves is living in an era we have officially left behind.

Thanks for this. Just a note: In 2018, Bayer, the second largest agrochemical company in the world, bought Monsanto for $63 billion. So now it's Bayer we have to hate.

I forgot about that! Thanks! Monsanto is still a brand, right?

Yes. Still some Monsanto brands. I grew up in the town that has the headquarters just outside of Des Moines. I live about an hour away now, and farmers always correct me when I say "Monsanto."

They were bought by Bayer in 2018’ish. I guess some brand names are just THAT toxic.

About 8 years ago, I took a picture of a mural in Bogota, Columbia. It was around the end of the US government’s campaign to destroy all the coca and poppy plants to stop them from becoming actual drugs that could make their way back here. It turns out that when you spray crops from the air you don’t have any control over where the shit you’re spraying winds up and so the Roundup they sprayed ended up everywhere - food crops, water supplies, etc. The mural reads “Fuera Monsanto” (Monsanto Out) and from 2015 - now, that’s been the law of the land. In 2020, Donald wanted Columbia to start up again but they weren’t able to because of all these pesky notification rules the Colombian courts put in the way when they un-outlawed the stuff they’d outlawed in 2015. And, because of COVID restrictions, they couldn’t collect people together in large groups to inform them they were about to be Roundupped all over again. Then Donald lost the election and Joe said don’t do this terrible thing, so there has been a 9 year reprieve from the spraying. And now Donald is about to be re-president and will probably again demand the people of Columbia subject themselves to toxic chemicals because the United States is incapable of putting itself on a path where people don’t feel the need to turn to substances to make it through their daily lives.

Good times all around!

Sorry, rest of the planet. Love, those of us who voted for Kamala.

Yeah, spraying from the air is a really bad idea.

On a personal note, as someone who worked with RoundUp. It's a good product.

It's not Monsanto's fault people don't use it according to the explicit instructions, which include safety procedures, like: no more than this much per volume of water, to wear face protection when spraying, and spray only up close (something like no further than two feet away from target).

Also, not to spray at least two weeks before harvest, so the plant would process the chemical out of its system.

It reads like they sprayed straight up glyphosate.

That's definitely not proper usage, and yeah, it would kill the crop. And cause plenty of collateral damage.
